Muñecas Sin Cara Series

Muñecas Limé are a traditional handmade ceramic and clay figurine dolls originally made by Liliana Mera Limé in Dominican Republic. They are made without faces to represent the diverse blend of Taino, African, and Spanish culture that lives within Dominican people.

I connected with these dolls as a kid because they both did and didn’t represent who I am. I always felt they lacked personality, so…. I came up with this series! The idea came from wanting to not only give these dolls some life, but also to showcase the fluidity, vibrancy, and passion of being Latina.
